BMA helps subscribers understand and track current pulp market conditions, and forecast short to long-term trends in pulp supply, demand, and net prices.
Brian McClay & Associates
BMA was established in 1997 (under the name TerraChoice Market Services) to provide subscribers around the world with pulp market information and insight to improve their understanding of current and future market conditions and emerging marketplace trends.
Areas of expertise include: supply, global pulp and end-use demand, pricing, as well as environmental labeling and international trade policy.
Trade Tree Online
TTO was launched in March 2016 for the purpose of producing trusted, open-market, transactions-based pulp net-price indices that track and demonstrate real market movements.
For decades, the pulp business has struggled with opaque list prices and escalating discounts, leading to inefficient supply contracts and limiting hedging opportunities. TTO net-price indices are an effective alternative to existing list-price-less-a-discount pricing mechanisms.
Our Leadership
Brian McClay
Brian is Chairman of TTO LLC and President of BMA and is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
He has over 40 years experience in the pulp world, with expertise in global pulp markets and pricing, as well as international trade and sustainability issues.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce - Management Science and Market Research from McGill University.
Fraser Hart
Fraser is TTO LLC’s Managing Partner based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA.
He had over 15 years of pulp sales experience before co-founding TTO in March 2016. Fraser's most recent position prior to TTO was at Resolute Forest Products.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill and an MBA from the University of Dayton, Ohio.
John Litvay
John joined TTO LLC as a partner in March 2021, and is based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Leveraging his experience in management consulting (Poyry) and Strategy & Development (GP Cellulose), he is responsible for BMA’s forecasting and consulting services.
He has undergraduate degrees in math and business as well as master’s degrees in pulp and paper and finance.
Our Team
Gabriel joined as BMA’s International Business Director in April 2021, leading our commercial processes and subscriber engagement. He is based in Montevideo, Uruguay.
With over 10 years of international experience in the pulp business, mainly in sales and commercial areas, Gabriel has experience securing sales in Latin America and Africa & Middle East, as part of multinational companies (Tetra Pak and GP Cellulose).
He has a Business Administration degree from UCEMA and an Executive MBA from IAE Business School.
Manon is Director of Administration and Customer Services Manager, and is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Having been at BMA for over 20 years, Manon helps subscribers access their information services and manages the BMA website. She leads our invoicing and customer access processes, making her the go-to person for customers regarding data requests and dealing with subscription inquiries.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Education from McGill University.
